Lokesh Kanagaraj started his career as a Director with the short film Kaalam which has been included in the Anthology Film Aviyal Produced by Karthik Subbaraj.
He then acquired an opportunity to direct the film Maanagaram starring Sundeep Kishan in the lead role and released in the year 2017.
This film was a tremendous success and acquired a lot of attention. He then directed the film Kaithi starring Karthi in the lead role and released in the year 2019. Though it was released along Vijay’s Bigil, the film has acquired around 100 crores at the Box office. This film was considered the Blockbuster film of the year.
