Shubman Gill was born on September 08, 1999 (age [calculate_years datestring=”09/08/1999″] Years) in Fazilka, Punjab, India. His father, Lakhwinder Singh was a farmer and his mother Kirat Gill, was a homemaker. His elder sister’s name is Shahneel Kaur Gill.
His father wanted to become a professional cricketer but count not achieve his dream. Since Gill had good cricketing skills at a very young age, his father decided to make him a cricketer.
Lakhwinder Singh created a cricket ground on his farm for Gill’s practice. Later, they left the village and moved to Mohali to join him at PCA Academy. He completed his schooling at Manav Mangal Smart School located in Mohali.

Career:
Shubman Gill started his cricketing career at the age of 11. His immense talent in cricket acquired him an opportunity to play under the U16 Punjab team for domestic matches. He then debuted his List-A cricket under Punjab for Vijay Hazare Trophy in the year 2017.
He debuted his first-class cricketing career under Punjab for the Ranji Trophy held in the year 2017. His clinical performance in the Ranji Trophy acquired him an opportunity to Play under Kolkata Knight Riders Team in the IPL 2018.
Then he got an opportunity to play under the India C squad for Deodhar Trophy in the year 2018. He became the leading run-scorer for Punjab Team in the Ranji Trophy 2018.

His massive opening performance as an opening batsman for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2019 helped him to bag the Emerging Player of The IPL Season 2019 award. He also lead as vice-captain of the U19 Indian Squad for the U19 World Cup held in the year 2018.
He then debuted his international cricketing career under Indian Team for an ODI series against New Zealand. He also led the India A Squad for a practice match against West Indies A.
