Gujarat Titans beats Rajasthan Royals to became Winners of IPL 2022 – In the final of IPL 2022, Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals (GT vs RR) by seven wickets and captured the title in the debut season itself.
Playing first after winning the toss at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Rajasthan Royals scored only 130/9 in 20 overs, in response to which Gujarat Titans lost wickets and won in the 19th over. Hardik Pandya took 3 wickets for just 17 runs in 4 overs.
Sanju Samson won the toss and decided to bat first, but it proved to be completely wrong. Yashasvi Jaiswal played a fine innings of 22 runs in 16 balls, but was dismissed for 31 in the fourth over. In the ninth over, Sanju Samson also returned to the pavilion after scoring just 14 runs in 11 balls. Devdutt Padikkal played a very poor innings of 2 runs in 10 balls and was dismissed for 79 in the 12th over.
Jos Buttler scored 39 runs in 35 balls, but in the 13th over, Hardik Pandya got him out on the score of 79 and Rajasthan Royals got a big blow. Shimron Hetmyer (11) on the score of 94 in the 15th over and Ravichandran Ashwin (6) on the score of 98 in the 16th over were also dismissed.

In the 17th over, the Royals crossed the 100 mark, but in the 18th over, Trent Boult (11) was also dismissed for 112. Riyan Parag (15 balls 15) and Obed McCoy (8) took the team to 130, but McCoy was run out for 130 in the last over and Parag was also out on the last ball on the same score. Apart from Hardik, R Sai Kishore took two wickets and Yash Dayal, Rashid Khan and Mohammed Shami took one wicket each.
In reply to the target, Gujarat Titans got off to a poor start with two wickets falling for 23 in the fifth over. Wriddhiman Saha was dismissed for 5 and Matthew Wade scored 8. From here, Shubman Gill added 63 runs for the third wicket with Hardik Pandya (30 balls 34) and put the team on the road to victory.
Hardik was dismissed for 86 in the 14th over, but Shubman Gill (43 balls 45 *) along with David Miller (19 balls 32 *) gave the team the title win with 11 balls to spare.
