The film was bankrolled by Lyca Productions and Anirudh Ravichander composed the soundtrack and background score.

Development – Sivakarthikeyan has committed to working under Lyca Production long back and earlier he supposes to work with Director Vignesh Shivan. However, the collaboration is not occurred due to various circumstances of both actor and director.
In September 2020, Sivakarthikeyan confirmed he will work with Lyca Production and revealed the title of the movie ‘Don’. The film was directed by debutant Cibi Chakaravarthi, who is an assistant director of Atlee. On 27th January, the title launch and first look poster of Don was released.
Along with Lyca Production, the actor co-produced the movie under his own banner ‘Sivakarhikeyan Productions’. The cast and crew of Don movie include some familiar names like Anirudh, SJ Suriya, Priyanka, and more.

Filming – The pre-production begin by end of 2020 and the initial shooting started in February 2021. According to the reports, Sivakarhikeyan playing a college student in the movie and will be seen in younger looks. Most of the production takes place in and around Tamil Nadu and the shooting wrapped by September 2021.
By the end of 2021, the pre-production of Don going in full swing and Sivakarthikeyan confirmed on Twitter he completed dubbing for his portion. On 16th December 2021, the team released the first single track ‘Jalabulajangu’ in Anirudh Musical.
The release date of Don is scheduled for 13th May 2022.
